Betty Rosales, M.A.
Betty has years of experience in working as a Caregiver and Special Education Teacher. She found herself with a calling to help at risk kids, becoming a Juvenile Probation Officer and getting her Master's Degree in Professional Counseling at Angelo State University. During her time in Graduate School, she interned with us at A Family Place, offering individual, family and group counseling.
Betty has an interest in helping clients with domestic violence, anger management, caregiver stress, self-harm, impulse-control disorders, family conflict, addiction, mood disorders, body image, abuse, LGBTQ+ issues, women's issues, codependency, parenting, grief and loss, . She specializes in working with emotional disturbance/learning disabilities/intellectual disabilities; trauma & PTSD; Behavioral Concerns; and Queer affirmative sexual identities.
Betty is in the process of obtaining her LPC-Associate license. Until then, she continues to provide psycho-education for our agency through group and individual format.
Treatment Orientation: Betty's theoretical platform as a therapist includes the following modalities: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); Reality Therapy; Solution-focused Brief Therapy; Trauma-focused Therapy; Motivational Interviewing; Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy; Communication Therapy; Person-Centered Therapy; Mindfulness-based Cogntiive Therapy; Acceptance Commitment Therapy; and Strength-based Therapy.
Fees: Individual/Family psycho-educational sessions are offered on a sliding scale fee. This fee is mainly based on household income & number of dependents, but may include other factors. For informaiton on group fees, please see our group or Substance Abuse Treatment sections.
