M. Sofia Ramirez, LMSW

Sofia received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology degree from the University of North Texas, and recently obtained her Masters of Social Work degree at The University of Texas at Arlington.  Sofia completed her advanced internship with us, and we are very excited that she has chosen to continue working with our agency and our clients!  Sofia is bilingual in English and Spanish.

Sofia prefers to work with clients aged 13+ individually.  She also may assist with our RESTART IOP groups.  Sofia has experience or interest in working with self-esteem, self-harm, bullying, body image, sexual assault or abuse, behavior issues, substance use, communication problems, LGBTQ+ community, religious trauma, women's issues, anxiety, depression, life transitions, attachment issues, relationship issues, and trauma.  

Treatment Orientation: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-focused, Person-Centered, Mindfulness, Feminist, Strengths-based, and trauma-focused therapy. 

Experience: Sofia has experience in psychiatric triage with screening and assessment, referrals and networking.  She has also worked with people with disabiltiies, and has a particular interest in working with people experiencing depression, anxiety and trauma.

Fees: Sofia's full fee is $135 ($150 for intakes), and she accepts referrals from "Open Path Collective" at a reduced rate of $70-80.  She accepts Aetna & Cigna through supervisory billing.
