Cornelia Sutton

Hello!

My name is Cornelia Sutton, (Supervised by Kasey Scharnet King, MS, LMFT, CST). I’m currently a student at Abilene Christian University, where I am completing my practicum as a Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in children and adolescents. I received my undergraduate degree from Middle Tennessee State University, with a major in Criminal Justice and Sociology.  My background includes Mental Health for youth and adults, re-entry case management with incarcerated individuals, substance abuse, and social services for at-risk youth and families. I find great joy working with others from all backgrounds and being a true follower of Jesus Christ. My goal is to assist each person, child, youth, and family to become everything Christ created them to be. I wish to create a space to build rapport and success with each family I assist. Thank you for inviting me along for the ride. I look forward to this journey with you.

Treatment Orientation: Cornelia has an eclectic approach, bringing in therapeutic intervention from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-focused, Dialectical behavioral Therapy (DBT), Person-Centered, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Strengths-based, and trauma-focused therapy.
