Angela McCroan, LMSW

Angela has always had a passion for helping others.  She received her Bachelor's in Criminology from UT Dallas in 2016, and then working at the Collin County Juvenile Detention Center in their long-term treatment program, facilitating groups on social skills, life skills, art therapy, anger management, Moral Reconation Therapy, conflict resolution and grief.  She felt fulfilled working with troubled teens, and decided to pursue her Master's Degree in Social Work from Our Lady of the Lake University. 

She became a Case Manager with Juvenile Specialty Courts, working as a partner with teens and their families, to help with behavior, rules, consequences, resources, skill-building, advocating, etc.  After earning her license, she became a Specialty Courts Therapist.  

In her approach, Angela works alongside clients to help teach skills that will help manage emotions, cope with distress and develop healthier relationships.  She especially enjoys working with teen girls/women on women's issues, and leads our Girls Group in our Plano Office.  She also leads our MRT group, which helps people accept accountability for actions, committing to honesty and change, and providing safe space to express concerns with peer support.  

Angela emphasizes a warm, relational approach to therapy and believes every individual has the potential to achieve success within his/her personal and professional life.  Angela is certified in "Parent Project" facilitation; MRT (Moral Reconation Therapy); and also has training in TBRI (Trust-based Relational Intervention), DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), and ESFT (Eco-Systemic Family Treatment).

Fees/Insurance Accepted:  Angela's full fee is $135, with a sliding fee based on household income/number of dependents.  She accepts referrals from "Open Path Collective" at a reduced fee; and accepts Aetna & Cigna through supervisory billing.
