About us

A Family Place, Inc started in Louisiana in 2003 – a therapy practice between sisters.  

When we relocated to Texas in 2007, A Family Place – Counseling was born. 

In 2021, we expanded to become a PLLC, so we could serve more people in the area.  We now have offices in Plano, Denton and Flower Mound!  

Our mission is to help families (and family members) build upon their strengths while partnering with them to improve mental wellness through evidence-based therapeutic interventions. 

We offer counseling and educational services for kids, teens, adults, couples, and families.

To contract with A Family Place, our therapists and providers must be accepting and affirming of all races, religions, cultures, genders, sexual orientation, and identity.  They all operate from a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach. This model, combined with other appropriate therapeutic techniques, is successful because it uses a systemic method for building on client/family strengths to bring about positive change. You and your provider are partners, working together to come up with solutions.
